Wherever possible, sites that contain explicit material through graphics,
pictures or text, will be located in the "Sexuality 18 and over" section
and/or will have "(18+)" following the name of the site. In
most cases you will find these sites in the Sexuality Section. For one
reason or another you may find an (18+) in another section. The web has a
pace of its own... what was there today is gone tomorrow and what was not
there a moment ago is there now. Keeping this in mind, a site that we deemed
as OK to not have an (18+) may now "need" to have an (18+). Please
remember that what is smut or offensive to one may be erotic and beautiful to
another!
As is with anything in life, if chocolate makes you ill, it's probably best
not to eat it. However, if by some chance you stumble upon some and you
have to take a bite, you have a choice. You can swallow it or spit it
out. Same goes for the web. If you find yourself on one of the
hundreds of sites Lesbian.com is linking to and you're not happy to be there
or are offended, please do not continue. Simply hit the back button on your browser
and
choose another site that better suits you. As you're doing so, perhaps you can
find it in your heart to be grateful that we live
in a world where freedom of speech is mostly still alive (okay, we're
optimists).
We at Lesbian.com certainly do not agree on every issue or image that
Lesbian.com links to. We do however, support and are fiercely committed to
the rights of privacy, and freedom of expression and
association for all of us. If you are inclined to be thinking about being
sexual and you are not of consenting age, it is still important that you
have access to safer-sex information. Whether you obtain that information
from a teacher, parent, a book, or the web, what is important is that you be
informed so that you can make responsible choices for yourself. If you
click on a site knowing that viewing that site will jeopardize you in
some way because you are not 18 (or what ever legal, consenting age is
where you live),
or you're in a situation where your contact with certain kinds of information
could get you in trouble (parent, teacher, warden, bosses, or government
agencies), then find another site that will interest you almost as much and
hope
that the information you are seeking will be available. The web is huge and
the choices of sites are many.
Lesbian.com has tapped a wee snippet of what
is out there on the web. We, at Lesbian.com, believe in free speech and at
the same time do not condone, hate crimes, child pornography, and anything
other than safe, consensual acts between adults.
Lesbian.com takes no responsibilty and assumes no liability for children
or anyone who choosing to link to another
site from Lesbian.com. To further assure that a child who might be using
your computer does not meander to sites which are inappropriate for them,
you might
consider checking out one of these sites.
